Manufacturer of Luxury Shave Tools Helps Prepare the Homeless for a Clean Start

March 12, 2014 – LOS ANGELES – van der Hagen Enterprises, manufacturer of high-quality handmade shave products, partners with the Midnight Mission (TMM) to educate homeless men on clean grooming techniques and preparation for job interviews. On March 20 at 10a.m., the homeless of LA’s Midnight Mission will learn proper grooming tips and tricks from barbers, receive training for job employment resources and participate in mock interviews with real world business executives. Every participant will receive a shave down and a van der Hagen Luxury Shave Set and safety razor to maintain a well-groomed appearance.

According to various studies, anywhere from 80-90 percent of adult males are clean-shaven; furthermore, research suggests positive bias toward clean-shaven men in business hiring positions. In a recent study, more than 500 HR professionals were surveyed in regards to grooming in the workplace environment, and 90 percent believed being well-groomed is the key to stand out from competitors and make a strong first impression.

By hosting this event with the Midnight Mission, van der Hagen hopes to make an impact on the city’s residents and supply LA’s homeless men with the proper tools to get the perfect shave for a clean start. Los Angeles County has an unemployment rate of 9.2 percent, and between 2011 and 2013 the homeless population increased 15 percent to more than 57,000 people – a total surpassed only by New York City.
