-JDRF recognized DZ Foundation at a charity casino event, All in for our Heroes-

Press Release – Township of Washington, NJ, March 1, 2019 – As part of the Heroes Event Series, All In For Our Heroes was held on February 21, 2019 at Seasons in the Township of Washington. An exciting casino night hosted by JDRF’s NJ Metro & Rockland County Chapter raised funds for the organization’s mission – to accelerate life-changing breakthroughs to cure, prevent, and treat type 1 diabetes (T1D) and its complications. This year, the typical Hold ‘Em Poker Tournament was expanded to include casino games like roulette, craps, black jack, and a money wheel. Jessica Zolotorofe, leader of the non-profit organization, The DZ Foundation, shared her story of losing her brother, Dan, to complications of the disease while he was away at college.

This event’s generous sponsors- BD, Hackensack Meridian Health, Seasons Catering Special Occasions, Aufgang Architect, CBA Industries Inc., Shoprite, Inserra Supermarkets Inc., Ascensia Diabetes care and The DZ Foundation- partnered with JDRF to find a cure for those battling T1D. They, along with event attendees, helped raise over $45,000 to fund life changing research.

More than 100 attendees enjoyed a fun and thrilling casino night and poker tournament. Each event admission offered exciting casino play, poker tournament, an extravagant buffet with raw bar and carving stations, an open bar, and hand-rolled cigars.

Created by the family of Daniel Zolotorofe, The DZ Foundation is recognized for its amazing contribution and unwavering passion for supporting and improving the lives of those affected by T1D. Through its ongoing commitment to carry on Daniel’s legacy, the nonprofit was able to fund a research grant through JDRF.

JDRF is committed to continue its partnership with community leaders to create a world without T1D.
