Accomplished artists are matched with individuals touched by cancer to create unique pieces of artwork reflective of their journey
Press Release – February 27, 2018, Montreal – Twist Out Cancer, an international non-profit charitable organization that provides psychosocial support to individuals touched by cancer through creative arts programming, announced today that tickets are now on sale for the inaugural Brushes With Cancer Art Exhibition and Gala in Montreal. The event will be held on Thursday, May 10, at 6 p.m. at the Rialto Theater, located at 5723 Avenue du Parc. Brushes with Cancer matches those touched by cancer with accomplished artists to create unique pieces of artwork that reflects the inspiration’s journey with cancer. After working together for several months, artists, inspirations, family, and friends will come together for an evening of survivorship, hope, and inspiration.
The inaugural Brushes with Cancer in Montreal features 46 artists and inspirations. Attendees at the gala will have a chance to view and bid for the unique works of art, with proceeds helping to further Twist Out Cancer’s global mission to support cancer survivors and their loved ones.
As Twist Out Cancer expands internationally, Jenna Benn Shersher, the Founder and Executive Director of Twist Out Cancer, is excited to bring the organization’s signature program and event to Montreal, where she lived for seven years while studying at McGill University.

It is incredible how complete strangers can form such a strong bond from the onset and share this unique experience,” said Suzanne Cronin and Jessica Sharafi, the co-chairs of the Brushes With Cancer Host Committee in Montreal. “We cannot wait to see the outcome at the celebratory event on May 10.”
