First Single “Clouds” Has Raised Nearly $800,000 for Children’s Cancer Research
Zach Sobiech blew us away last year when he teamed up with SoulPancake to invite us into his world with “My Last Day’s: Meet Zach Sobiech.” The 20-minute video was our first introduction to this incredibly inspirational seventeen year old who, even while facing a terminal diagnosis of Osteosarcoma showed us what it truly means to live. Determined to leave a legacy for his family and friends, Zach and his band, A Firm Handshake (Sammy Brown & Reed Redmond) wrote, recorded and released a gorgeous EP, Fix Me Up. Now, for the first time ever, Fix Me Up will be available to fans physically as well as digitally with added bonus content as a Deluxe Edition, set to hit May 6th via Rock the Cause Records.
When the Fix Me Up EP was released last year, the first single “Clouds” quickly went viral selling over 300,000 downloads and raising close to $800,000 for Children’s Cancer Research. The video for the single touched millions of people, amongst them celebrities so moved by Zach and the song that they came together to create a celebrity edition of “Clouds” for him. When Zach passed away on May 20, 2013, his fans pushed the track to up to #1 on the iTunes, Spotify and Billboard charts, a moving tribute from the astounding amount of people he had touched by sharing his story.
Fix Me Up (Deluxe Edition) is a two-disk CD/DVD set that includes the original EP, along with a never before heard acoustic version of “Clouds”, the new holiday classic “Clouds (Largest Clouds Choir Holiday Version)” and a gorgeous new single from band-mate Sammy Brown, “How to Go to Confession,” a song about loved ones lost and hope for the future. A portion of the net proceeds from the sale of Fix Me Up (Deluxe Edition) are being donated to the Zach Sobiech Osteorcarcoma Fund at Children’s Cancer Research Fund to find a cure for this rare, devastating cancer, and Rock the Cause, a music based non-profit that empowers young people to get involved in their communities.
