Press Release – Philadelphia, PA – January 5, 2017 – Philly Kicking Cancer (PKC), a non-profit under the umbrella of the Kicking Cancer Foundation created to raise money for cancer research, today announces their most recent partnership with the Abramson Cancer Center of the University of Pennsylvania. This partnership brings together two very strong, local organizations that will help further the fight for a cure for cancer.
This partnership, in addition to the six-year relationship with Fox Chase Cancer Center, is another opportunity to generate awareness among the communities about the topic of cancer and how we need to continue fighting.
“We are very excited to be expanding our partnership efforts the Abramson Cancer Center on this fight for a cure,” said Sarah Clark, President of Philadelphia Kicking Cancer Foundation. “With their help, along with long-time partner Fox Chase Cancer Center, we are confident that we will continue to grow and further generate awareness for not only our organization, but also about a topic that is very near to all of our hearts.”
With growing partnerships, PKC will continue their fundraising efforts, which include multiple events around the city of Philadelphia and the one-day kickball tournament held every summer. All proceeds made will be donated to both the Abramson Cancer Center of the University of Pennsylvania and Fox Chase Cancer Center for a fight for a cure.
“One of the most important lessons I’ve learned as a cancer researcher and leader is that no discovery happens alone – it takes collaboration to truly advance research and therapies so that our patients and families can benefit from more and better options to fight their disease. Our philanthropic supporters, like Philly Kicks Cancer, who come together to organize events and raise important funding are one of our most critical partners.” Chi V. Dang, MD, PhD, Director, Abramson Cancer Center
