Press Release – New York, NY — JASA, one of New York’s most comprehensive and trusted agencies serving older adults, has appointed Allister Wesson as its new Chief Development & Communications Officer. In this role, Ms. Wesson will join the Agency’s executive team to help strengthen JASA’s position as a leader in the field and increase the organization’s capacity to deliver sustainable programs and services. She will focus on fundraising, marketing and communications as key components in achieving these goals.
“We’re confident that Allie’s mix of skills and experience will help JASA grow and continue to provide much needed services to New York’s older population,” stated Kathryn Haslanger, JASA’s Chief Executive Officer. “Her spirit and enthusiasm for the work and the community we serve will be invaluable as we celebrate our 50th anniversary this year and look toward the future.”

Ms. Wesson brings over 15 years of work in the non-profit sector. She began her career with Lydia’s House, a transitional housing shelter for battered women and their children in St. Louis. Most recently, she served in various positions at the New York State Trial Lawyers Association, including as the Deputy Executive Director.
Ms. Wesson holds a law degree from Washington University School of Law in St. Louis, where she served as Executive Essays Editor for the Global Studies Law Review, and won the prestigious NAPIL Award (National Association of Public Interest Law) for public service. She also earned a bachelor’s degree from Cornell University’s School of Industrial & Labor Relations.
