The American Express NGen Fellows program builds the leadership skills of nonprofit and philanthropic leaders ages 40 and under to tackle society’s toughest challenges. Over the course of a year, Fellows participate in a range of activities that deepen their individual capabilities, expand their collective knowledge, and grow their professional networks.

“Each year, our NGen Fellows surprise and delight us all with their drive and skill,” said Diana Aviv, Independent Sector president and CEO. “Our 2013 cohort took on the tough issues of diversity and inclusion in the charitable sector. We very much look forward to discovering what issue this creative, talented group takes up, but we can be sure their work will contribute crucial thinking to a thriving, vital sector.”

“We congratulate this talented group and are honored we can support their personal development as nonprofit leaders,” said Timothy J. McClimon, president of the American Express Foundation. “Though all have already accomplished so much, we believe each leader’s future shows limitless potential for creativity and positive change in the charitable sector and in society.”

The American Express NGen Fellows Program gives these 12 professionals a rare opportunity to strengthen their capacity for future impact. It offers a comprehensive program that develops the Fellows’ ability to lead in turbulent times, strengthens their professional networks, and elevates NGen accomplishments on a national level. Over the course of their fellowship, they also will work on a group-led project which contributes to the knowledge of the sector.

The program runs October 2014 – October 2015, highlighted by the Fellows’ appearance at NGen Pre-Conference Program at this year’s IS National Conference in Seattle.
