Visit the Dream Ride Team at Chrome Hill at The NASWA Resort June 15-19
Press Release – Cheshire, CT – Representatives of the Dream Ride are heading out to the country’s oldest Motorcycle Rally, Laconia Motorcycle Week, to spread the word about another legendary New England motorcycle event, The Dream Ride Experience. This 16-year old motorcycle and premier car event, to be held August 26-28, 2016 in Farmington, CT, has raised over $4.7 million for Special Olympics and related charities.
The Dream Ride group will be located at Chrome Hill, the exhibit venue across the street from The NASWA Resort at 1086 Weirs Boulevard, walking distance to Weirs Beach; they will offer Dream Ride bandanas for a $5 donation and will also sell raffle tickets and display the Grand Prize, a 2016 Harley-Davidson FLHXS Street Glide Special. The winner of the bike, provided in conjunction with TSI Harley-Davidson in Ellington, CT-and a Performance Machine limited edition leather jacket– will be drawn on September 1 at Bozzuto’s Inc. (Winner need not be present; 2nd place wins a $500 IGA gift card and 3rd Place wins a $200 American Express gift certificate.) Tickets for The Dream Ride Experience will also be available.
This year’s Dream Ride Experience, an international, multi-day and multi-activity event at the Farmington Polo Club, is loaded with fun for everyone. The 40+ riders of the FL2CT Ride will arrive at the Farmington Marriott on Friday afternoon, August 26 where they will meet bikers from all over Canada and the Eastern Seaboard, who will take part in the weekend’s parties, dinners, athletic, car and bike events.
The Saturday Dream Cruise and Wrangler Rally is a special event for athletes, as the owners of hundreds of privately owned show cars, chauffeur them through the Connecticut countryside. The juried Sunday Dream Car Show , (sponsored by Motorcars, Inc., Plainville, CT) has been a major draw as hundreds of the world’s most notable exotic and collector cars are featured. Wayne Carini of “Chasing Classic Cars” is just one of the celebrity judges.
While much of the event centers around premier cars, bikers are attracted by the Sunday morning, 40-mile, police escorted, “feet up” scenic ride through beautiful, winding roads and quaint towns. (Registration for this ride is available online and also at the Dream Ride display in Laconia.) This year, a juried Dream Bike Show, with six classes, sponsored by American Iron Magazine will also be part of the weekend lineup; those interested in showing their bikes are encouraged to register online.
Other additions to this year’s Dream Ride include a Family Fun Zone providing carnival games and rides to entertain young and old alike and the 30 Fire Departments participating in the Firemen Chili Cook-off, will add more “spice” to the event.
There is no end to the fun and the fund-raising at the Dream Ride Experience as athletes from as far away as Australia, Canada and the Caribbean Islands travel to Farmington to be a part of the celebration of their achievements; an emotional awards ceremony closes the event on Sunday afternoon.
Under the umbrella of the non-profit, The Hometown Foundation, Inc., the Dream Ride is committed to the U.S. military, children in need, those with intellectual disabilities and life-threatening illnesses, emergency response personnel, and animal rescues. The organization’s founder, Michael Bozzuto, a Connecticut business leader, works diligently to expand participation in the event and to ensure that all of the money raised supports local Special Olympics chapters and charities.
“We thought Laconia Motorcycle Week would provide the ideal opportunity for us to expand our visibility in New England and let the riders who arrive from all over the country know more about the progress that the Dream Ride enables so many athletes to achieve. We hope that many more riders, non-riders, fans and Special Olympics athletes will join us in Farmington — it will be an experience they will never forget!” said Bozzuto.
