Josh Fox’s How to Let Go of the World and Love All the Things Climate Can’t Change To be First Recipient Awarded Film to tour 100 Cities Around the World and on HBO June 27
Press Release – Los Angeles, CA (June 2, 2016) — Distribber.com, an operating business of GoDigital, Inc., announced today that it is launching a quarterly grant program in partnership with the International Documentary Association (IDA) to empower four filmmakers per year to take control of their releases and directly distribute their content onto major platforms like iTunes, Google Play, and Netflix worldwide while retaining 100% of their rights and revenue.
The impetus for the development of the grant provision is to expand the public’s awareness of noted films through their distribution cycle by using Distribber’s revolutionary tools and sales dashboard to garner maximum audience awareness and revenue for the filmmakers.
The first project to be awarded the Distribber.com grant is Oscar-nominated director Josh Fox’s (Gasland) How to Let Go of the World and Love All the Things Climate Can’t Change. The feature documentary premiered at Sundance, will be touring 100 cities around the world and will air on HBO with its world broadcast premiere on June 27. The Los Angeles Premiere will take place on June 3 with a panel including Shailene Woodley, Ed Begley, Jr., Frances Fisher, Chris Paine and EMA President Debbie Levin
How to Let Go of the World and Love All the Things Climate Can’t Change investigates climate change—the greatest threat our world has ever known—and continues Fox’s deeply personal filmmaking style. Traveling to 12 countries on 6 continents, the film acknowledges that it may be too late to stop some of the worst consequences and asks: what is it that climate change can’t destroy?

The grant program—which will be administered through IDA and Distribber.com—will be open to any film receiving fiscal sponsorship from the IDA, Pare Lorentz grant recipients, or films nominated for the IDA Annual Documentary Awards. The Distribber.com grant will provide counsel and technical support for the distribution of content across multiple digital distribution platforms via the company’s service.
The Pare Lorentz Award gifts monies to filmmakers whose works exhibit objective research, artful storytelling, strong visual style, high production value, artistic writing, and outstanding music composition, as well as skillful direction, camerawork and editing. Also integral to IDA’s mission of supporting and recognizing the extraordinary work of documentarians, the IDA Annual Documentary Awards are the world’s most prestigious event dedicated to the documentary genre, celebrating the best nonfiction films and programs of the year.
Distribber.com has released thousands of independent films to the major platforms such as iTunes, Netflix, Google Play, Amazon Prime, Hulu, Vudu, Comcast, Time Warner Cable, and DirecTV among others. The Resurrection of Jake the Snake—directed by Steve Yu—is a recent release from the company, which earlier this year topped the charts on iTunes.
“We have been fortunate enough both as filmmakers and as technologists to have vast experience in the distribution world and we believe in supporting outstanding filmmakers like Josh Fox. We are honored to be working with IDA on this effort,” stated Nick Soares CEO GoDigital, Inc./Distribber.com.
“Distribber.com is a valued brand to all filmmakers and the opportunity to provide encoding, distribution services, and counsel regarding distribution to the important players in the digital space is a huge value added for any filmmaker. Distribber.com will help Josh in getting How to Let Go of the World and Love All the Things Climate Can’t Change released on such noted platforms as iTunes, Netflix, Google Play, Amazon Prime, Hulu, and Vudu, among others while retaining 100% of rights and revenue. We look forward to a long and successful relationship with Distribber.com,” stated Simon Kilmurry, IDA’s Executive Director.
