ALBUQUERQUE, NM (August 24, 2015) – ABQid, Inc., New Mexico’s first investor funded, curriculum-based startup accelerator, is hosting their second Demo Day on August 28th, but this year’s event will feature a new twist—community voting for the best startup company. The Demo Day startup team with the most votes will win the bragging right of best pitch.
“Startup companies truly have great impact on the local community—from bringing investment dollars into the local economy to providing new products and services and energizing the local business ecosystem,” said Lori Upham, serial entrepreneur and ABQid Board Member. “As a result, we believe that the community should have the opportunity to give input by voting for their favorite startup pitch.”
Community voting will take place via Twitter and Instagram. Those wishing to place a vote should post using the hashtag #DemoDay, along with the startup name of their vote as a hashtag (ex: #SheSpire). Voting will begin Friday, August 28th at 1:30pm and run until Friday, August 28th at 4pm when the Demo Day concludes. Voters do not have to be present to vote.

Demo Day will take place from 1:30 pm to 4 pm August 28th, 2015 at the Epicenter, located 199 Broadway NE. The Demo Day, sponsored by CliftonLarsonAllen, is open to the public, allowing the public and those interested in applying for next year’s ABQid Accelerator, a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to put together a successful startup. Each startup company CEO will present their company in short six-minute pitches.
