The Perfect Valentine

Ever pine for the perfect kiss or an amazing Valentine’s Day date? Look no further. The “one” may be closer and furrier than you think!

  • Hounded for Happiness:  Because 87% of dog owners say their dog is always happy, they think they would make a better valentine than their significant other
  • Pucker up! 53% of Rover.com users said their dog gives better kisses than their significant other
  • Puppy Love: 63% of dog owners say their dog loves them more than their significant other, while almost 30% feel they are loved equally
  • Blind Date vs. Play Mate: This Valentine’s Day 95% of dog owners day they would rather spend the night at home cuddling with their dog than on a blind date

Sacrificing for Your Partner or Even Your Career for Your Dog?

Relationships are all about sacrifice…but just how far are you willing to go for your pet vs. your career or significant other?

  • Man’s Best Friend: Nearly 70% of dog owners would sacrifice “alone time” with a significant other for their dog
  • Heart Breaker or Heart Barker? 75% of people would end a relationship for their pet
  • Cash or K9: 58% of dog owners would give up a job opportunity for their pet

Spoil them Rotten!

Valentine’s Day is all about spoiling your loved ones, and showing them you care. But how does Fido stack up to your significant other?

  • Spoiled Spot: Nearly 80% of Rover.com users spend more money per month spoiling their pet than their significant other
  • Pampered Pooches: 62% spend more money “treating” their pets over themselves
  • Perfect Puppy Present: On Valentine’s Day, 72% of Rover.com users  would “treat” their pet to a long walk followed by a long nap with lots of snuggles

The Game of Love

Looking for that perfect match? Pet parents may want to consider looking to your pet for inspiration.

  • Matchmaker, Matchmaker: Take a look at the dog park again as almost 10% of Rover.com users said they have dated someone they met through a pet
  • Your Dogma: Loyalty (80%), compassion (73%) and friendliness (70%) are three traits that need to be mirrored in both man’s best friend and boy/girlfriend
  • Lose That Pooch: About a third of Rover.com users want both their dog and their significant other to be energetic/athletic
