Enterprise Holdings Continues Support for the American Cancer Society

—$115,000 in Foundation Grants Since 2010—

Wayne, NJ August 13, 2014 – The New York operations team of Enterprise Holdings, the corporate parent of the Enterprise Rent-A-Car, National Car Rental and Alamo Rent A Car brands, has donated hundreds of volunteer hours to the American Cancer Society since 2010. In addition, during that time, the Enterprise Holdings Foundation, the corporation’s philanthropic arm, has donated more than $115,000 to the organization.

“We are honored to continue our support of the American Cancer Society,” said Carole Lakin, group cultural relations manager, Enterprise Holdings. “Our work with the American Cancer Society has allowed us to help them spread awareness and provide patient services for members in our local community currently battling this disease.”

This year alone, the Enterprise Holdings Foundation has donated $30,000 to the American Cancer Society, bringing the Foundation’s donation total to $115,000 over the past five years. “We know that the American Cancer Society will continue to enrich the lives of our community members. Not only are we proud to donate these funds to the organization, but our employees are equally as dedicated to volunteering at American Cancer Society events throughout the year,” added Ms. Lakin.

In addition to the Foundation donations, Enterprise Holdings employees have volunteered their time for the past five years at numerous American Cancer Society events – most recently Making Strides Against Breast Cancer and Relay for Life. During these events, Enterprise Holdings employees have helped with registration, interactive event activities, traffic coordination, clean up/set up, while supporting the initiatives of participants and the American Cancer Society. “Our employees have acted as motivators and event staff during these events because they believe in the mission of the American Cancer Society and wanted to do their part to help the local community,” added Ms. Lakin.

“We are so grateful for the continued support from Enterprise Holdings for our collegiate Relay For Life events,” said Alex Baron, senior manager, Relay For Life, Eastern Division. “Relay For Life is about being a community that takes up the fight, and we cannot do that without tremendous partners like Enterprise. Their commitment is important in helping the American Cancer Society’s mission of helping people get well, stay well, find cures, and fight back.”
