Girl Launches Interactive Children’s Book on Activism at Wisdom 2.0 Feb. 14 in San Francisco

SAN FRANCISCO (Feb. 14, 2014) – 10-year-old Vivienne Harr, founder of Make a Stand, Inc. (www.makeastand.com), is announcing an autobiographical children’s book of her lemonade stand to end child slavery called “Make a Stand: When life gives you lemons, change the world!” She appears at the Wisdom 2.0 conference in San Francisco on Valentine’s Day, February 14.

Vivienne’s first appearance at Wisdom 2.0

“Make a Stand” tells the story of how Vivienne learned that slavery still exists in the world and how she takes action by running a lemonade stand for 365 days straight. What happens is truly remarkable, propelling Vivienne to the top of social purpose entrepreneurship. She was picked from 230 million users to ring the bell for Twitter’s IPO. Town & Country listed Vivienne among the top 50 most influential entrepreneurs in America. Recently she became the subject of a feature-length documentary called #standwithme by Emmy-winning Stillmotion Originals.

“Our lemonade stand is called a ‘giveness’, instead of a ‘business’,” Vivienne said in her first appearance at Wisdom 2.0. “How it works is we give people lemonade, they give what’s in their heart, and we give kids freedom.”

Illustrated by her mom, Alexandra Harr, and published by mission-based publisher for children Chocolate Sauce Books, Vivienne’s story shows the power of a young girl’s dream and will inspire young activists and entrepreneurs to make a stand in their own lives. The book includes an interactive feature that connects children online to discuss child slavery and make a stand for what matters in their lives. As part of her Company’s social purpose model, each book sale dedicates 5 percent of proceeds to ending child slavery. Learn more at http://store.chocolatesaucebooks.com/make-a-stand.html.

She will be signing copies of her new book from Noon to 4 PM. The conference takes place at the Marriott Marquis San Francisco, 780 Mission St. in San Francisco. For information call (415) 869-1600.
