Press Release – SALT LAKE CITY, Nov. 26, 2018 /PRNewswire/ — In a bid to bring attention to #GivingTuesday, the big annual giving day celebrated tomorrow after today’s “cyber Monday” and last week’s “Black Friday,” popular YouTube show host Devin Thorpe will stream live for 24 hours.
The second annual event Thorpe calls the #GTstreamathon will begin at midnight Pacific time and continue until the clock strikes 12 midnight again, bringing an end to November 27, 2018. He’ll host nonprofit leaders from around the world who will explain their respective missions and causes—and tell the audience how they can help on #GivingTuesday.
“Devin’s #GTstreamathon will bring even greater attention to this important start to the year-end giving season,” says John Brennick, head of Johnson & Johnson’s CaringCrowd, one of the show’s sponsors. “We’re hoping to see this be the biggest #GivingTuesday, not only in the history of CaringCrowd but in the history of the world.”

The nonprofits participating in this year’s #GTstreamathon include: the Salvation Army, Rotary International, Penn State, IJM, Smile Train, the Cerebral Palsy Foundation, GlobalGiving and Water.org.
In addition to CaringCrowd, the #GTstreamthon is sponsored by DonorPerfect, FundRazr, Durham Jones & Pinegar and generous donors who sponsored in honor of nonprofits, including the Salt Lake Choral Artists and A New Dawn. Nonprofits do not pay to participate.
