Press Release – The Hult Prize Foundation recently announced that more than 2000 teams have advanced to the 2019 Regional Summits for the 10th Annual Hult Prize. The Hult Prize Foundation is a global organization which empowers and equips youth in over 100 countries with the knowledge, skills and action-training they need to be successful in the 21st century. Through a series of programs, the Hult Prize sets a yearly challenge in partnership with the United Nations Office of Partnership and the support of President Bill Clinton that aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals, through which students join in on the challenge by presenting their idea in the hopes to ultimately win US $1 million in start-up funding to launch a sustainable social venture.
This has been a record year for us at the Hult Prize, seeing revolutionary ideas come to life from hundreds of countries across the world. Our participants are ignited by the need to make the world a better place through entrepreneurship.
This year’s 2019 Hult Prize Challenge asks entrepreneurs to build the foundations of a venture that will provide meaningful work for 10,00 youth within the next decade – a challenge personally written and selected by Ahmad Ashkar, CEO and Founder of the Hult Prize, and Phillip Auerswald.
“The worst thing that can happen to anybody is to get up every day and start the day believing that every one of your tomorrows will be just like yesterday, millions and millions of young people believe that today.”
– President William Jefferson Clinton.
Each team selected was chosen from more than +200,000 applications received from over +1,000 colleges and universities in over +160 countries. The Hult Prize Regional Summits will take place on from March 1st until April 27th in more than 25 countries around the globe.
Following the Regional Summits, the winning team from each host city will move into the Hult Prize Accelerator, where participants will receive mentorship, advisory and strategic planning as they create prototypes and set-up to launch their new social business. As they get one step closer, the teams who excel at the Hult Prize Accelerator will be invited to 10th Annual Hult Prize Awards & Gala at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, New York. Where a start-studded judge panel will select the winning team, which will be awarded the US$ 1,000,000 prize by President Bill Clinton himself.
