Tee Up for a Great Cause at Junior League of Long Island’s Golf Fundraiser at Harbor Links

All Long Islanders are invited to come out to support The Junior League community projects that directly benefit local women and children

Press Release – Roslyn, NY, May 2, 2016The Junior League of Long Island® is hosting a golf fundraiser to support the many community projects performed throughout the year by its volunteer members of Long Island women. We create significant and lasting change and we’re proud of our legacy. We are the source communities turn to when they have a problem to solve. This is our biggest fundraiser of the year, so join us and bring your friends to this fabulous event!

The event takes place on Friday, June 3, 2016, at the Harbor Links Golf Course in Port Washington. Registration for the nine-hole scramble begins at 3:30 p.m. with a shotgun tee-off at 4:00 p.m. Golfers will compete for prizes in hole-in-one, longest drive and straightest drive contests. A dinner reception will follow with raffles and silent auctions.

The Junior League’s® fundraiser is open to the public with tickets starting at $100 . Hole sponsorships starting at $500 are available for individual and corporate partners. Donations for raffle and auction items are currently being accepted.

Event proceeds will support the Junior League’s signature community projects, including:

Junior League’s® Kids in the Kitchen: An interactive event that teaches young children the benefits of proper nutrition and exercise. It’s a critical element of our ongoing commitment in teaching local children and their parents about the importance of eating healthy foods and involving them in the fight against childhood obesity.

Community Playground Project: A two-year project that coordinates and constructs a playground for a deserving Long Island community. The 2016 playground build will help create a sensory, inclusive playground at Haypath Park in Old Bethpage.

First Step to Success: Annual event that addresses the needs of women who require professional clothing and training as they transition back into the workforce and gain independence.

Community Service Fund: Junior League of Long Island awards over $10,000 every year in grants/scholarships to Long Island non-profits.
