Post Properties Supports Fragile Kids Foundation With Birthday Bash Box Drive

ATLANTA (July 8, 2015) – Throughout the year, Post Properties, Inc. supports various non-profits and charities through its Post HOPE Foundation, a corporate initiative that helps bring resources and funds to those in need. Most recently, the corporate office is hosting a birthday bash box drive to benefit Fragile Kids Foundation.

Fragile Kids is a non-profit organization that provides wheelchair lifts for homes and vans, ramping, specialty seating, bathing and toileting equipment, therapy bikes, strollers and much more to the medically fragile children of Georgia. Fragile Kids helps fill the “insurance gap” between what is deemed medically necessary for a medically fragile child and what is actually covered by private insurance or Medicaid.

One of Fragile Kids’ initiatives is to provide festive birthday bash baskets to children on their special day. Post’s birthday box drive will encourage employees to donate all the supplies for a memorable party, including cake mix, icing, decorations, candles and goodies. The donated items go toward birthday baskets that are delivered monthly to fragile children. Post’s drive will run through mid-July.

“We are so thankful for Post Properties’ continual participation,” said Carolyn Polakowski, Executive Director of Fragile Kids. “From the birthday boxes to donations for equipment, we’re grateful for community support to help bring smiles to the fragile children of Georgia.”

On Oct. 15, Post will partner with Fragile Kids for the company’s annual Day of Service by sending volunteers to help with administrative needs, including prepping birthday baskets for more than 400 children they serve in Georgia.

“We’re counting down to the Day of Service in October, so we can work face-to-face with Fragile Kids,” said Virginia Means, Executive Director of Post HOPE Foundation. “The birthday box drive is one step toward building awareness and momentum in support of this great cause.”
